Let me give you a hint how wrong that statement is.
Just about every crypto device I work with uses some form of unix or unix like software, every satellite antenna i've worked with uses a *nix. The only thing I use windows for is for a terminal connection using hyper terminal. I wish i could get away from even doing that. The field computer we have runs windows though.
My point is, if it's high demand, high value, with high availability needed, the system running the equipment will NOT be a Microsoft product.
