Back in Oz... by FNORDer 2007-12-26 19:31:39
Well I made it safe and sound. I still don't have internet at home yet, so I'm at a cybercafe because the uni is closed until the 11th or something. Just for my own amusement I thought I'd compile a list of the things I miss about the US and the things I missed about home.

THINGS I MISS ABOUT THE US:
Kira
Cheaper food
Cheaper computer games
Cheaper RPG books
Cheaper small items
Kira (this important item needed to be put down twice)
Free wireless at the hotel
Cooler weather
90% of the trees not being Gum trees
Being able to order a pizza at 2am
Kira (this important item needed to be put down three times)
64 channels of TV (and sometimes nothing was on)

THINGS I MISSED ABOUT HOME:
Sucrose
V
Vegetables
Fruit
Cricket (oddly enough)
Being able to--easily--provide exact change
World News Australia (I tried watching CNN once and was nearly sick inside 3 minutes)
Tax being part of the ticket price
Uncensored profanity, and two F-bombs per hour after the watershed
Australian humour
Being able to find Stephen Baxter easily in the bookshop

And still the fact that she is over there, and I am over here, makes it a dead even split as to where I wish I was. On the one hand I love where I'm from, on the other, she's in the US, and I find it a lot easier to miss home than miss her...
