Twenty years before they first met. One was a boxer and a Ship's Cook, the other was a secret agent with the Coast Guard. They both saw the flag raise through binoculars on US Navy vessels on opposite sides of the island. For the Boxer/Chef, it was a tearful day indeed. Our people were now safe from the horrors of Japanese occupation. There were critics who didn't like the "sappiness" of the movie, but even they couldn't deny the beautiful, soldier's eye view way that both sides of the conflict were captured. Tissues are mandatory.
