It depends on how it's approached, applied, taught, and researched. Based on the current body of evidence, creation science is not a viable competitor to evolution. That does not mean that there is no merit in the field of study.

One can certainly study the claims of the advocates of creation science in order to demonstrate the specific flaws in their claims.

One can also study creation science out of valid scientific interest, so long as one is not deluded about the nature of the field. I would presume that it's happened on more than one occasion in the history of science where one person studying one non-viable field of science has still found valuable knowledge for other fields of science.
