On useless Christmas gifts: by thread_killer2007-12-26 06:36:49

*ensures that it contains none of the colors that are in your house*

There's a B&N near us (no Borders, unfortunately). If you ever deign to visit this neck of the woods I'd be more than happy to accompany you there and watch you spend the gift card. (Come to think of it, there are probably a LOT of B&N on the way *to* our house)

Maybe this is some weird oblique hit that your mom wants you to come visit?

I, too, am one of those people who are difficult to shop for, because I'll usually pick up stuff I want as I see it and not wait for someone to decide to gift it to me. And I have no more room for tchatchkis.

However, I've decided that the general "what to get Voxwoman" dilemma can be solved with "Fabric", "craft materials" or gift certificates to fabric and/or craft stores. There's no such thing as a fabric too ugly to use in a quilt, and if I already HAVE the fabric, getting a bit more of it is not a problem at all.

I keep trying to get the adults in my husband's family to stop giving gifts in the first place (I think it's useless to basically hand an amount of money around a circle anyway), but nobody plays by those rules.

I'm thinking of spending December in Maui next year....
