Even if they don't give something "useful", they know how to tug on the heartstrings. Kids like to give good gifts because they know how it feels to get things they don't like. Kids are more thoughtful, even if they are off-track.

Adults frequently just don't know how to give gifts. I'm not always the best. I hate being "under pressure" to find the right thing. Maybe your wife is trying to tell you something.
