when he says, "hyperactive expectations of the storm pontificators." NOAA, and the UK Meterological Offices' predictions for named storms (13-17 for NOAA and 9-15 for the UKMO) are both reasonably close to the actual number of storms of 14... Colorado State's predictions were revised throughout the year and were high, but still within the range that NOAA was predicting. I put less faith in their predictions only because I tend to distrust any long term prediction that says "exactly N"...
