than with men: three-quarters of my friends are female. So I'd be more comfortable in a relationship with two females than with a woman and a male.
Sex is not quite what you were asking about, as bigamy does not necessarily imply sex-with-three. But I think that you did mean to ask, at least in part, about that, too.
In a society with many relationships of three, homosexuality would be far more common than it is now (cf. the Romans and Greeks). However, that doesn't mean that gay and lesbian homosexuality would be equally common. If they aren't, then I'd expect most relationships to take the most common form, be it two guys and a girl, or two girls and a guy; and there might be a taboo against the other form. (Which would lead to a grossly imbalanced meat market, by the way.) That would affect my choices.
As I said, I'd expect to be more comfortable with two girls than with a girl and a guy. But there's two other votes besides mine (two more veto's, rather), and I do think I could be happy with another guy --- especially in that society, where I'd have grown up attracted to guys as well as girls.
And, returning in this society, where I turned out nearly completely straight, I'd be willing to try either kind of relationship or affair --- but, as always, it would have to be the right people. |
