For the loss of your friend. I do not agree with what he believed, but I will not condemn him for believing it. My concern is that at age 14 there was no responsible adult to say otherwise in the matter. Were he 18+, I might not feel quite so uneasy about this situation. Maybe it's because in the US, a 14-year-old isn't considered and "adult", and that he cannot make such a decision just by himself.
