Another temperature query by UGuardian 2007-10-22 20:22:33
My computer (an AMD Sempron 3100+ laptop) picked up a weird habit a few weeks ago, and I'm not sure what to make of it.

At random it'll get very hot -- you can feel the heat through the keyboard. I've no idea what the cause is (CPU load doesn't affect this heat for some odd reason).

Speedfan finds three sensors, Core, Temp1 and HDD1. The normal range for Core is 50C to 67C. Temp1 and HDD1 are normally around 27C to 31C. The computer isn't even warm by the vent when this is the case.

However, when the computer feels hot, Temp1 also spikes to about 60C. Neither Core or HDD1 go up in temperature.

This computer didn't start doing this until mid-September, and even then it's happening less than once a week.

I'm not real sure there's a problem; after all this computer is running a number of things and I think it's safely within the specs for this level of heat. What say the UFicle?
