he was.. survived polio.. (it ate away his right leg)

paid for his high school (his parents couldn't afford the school he wanted to go to .. so he worked to help pay for it)

good man, (best father he could be in trying circumstances.. long story)

bush car driver, survived brother's early death at age 43.. younger brother to boot :(

many other things.. I just wish my son could've gotten to know him .. at least my dad got a chance to be with him for a while :)
