It makes sense at a superficial short-term economic level to abolish minimum wage and let the free market sort it out.

But if you have a race-to-the-bottom on wages, those people will get poorer and poorer, and who will buy the company's products?

One might say 'those people should train themselves in new skill to be more valuable', but education is often expensive because of this same short-term thinking... and requiring people to leverage themselves deep into debt just to gain a qualification that *might* return enough income to survive and repay their debts is a long shot.
