Have you ever BEEN on welfare? by SnArL2007-10-22 11:12:35
                                Nope, by lheggland 2007-10-22 11:34:13
I made sure that I had a job and marketable skills. OTH I know quite a few poeple who are on it or grew up on it. I have talked to them about it extensively.

Some people want off, others are perfectly happy living in dependency to the state. I had junior enlisted working for me who earned less then their friends who stayed at home collecting welfare. Like a said before, I know people who quite good jobs to go onto welfare because the housing benefit made the total income higher then it was in the work force.

The system is broken and needs to be fixed. Right now the working poor have a very hard time getting help, but those who choose not to work at all get head of the line for most programs. There is very little incentive to leave the program.
