Maximum wage? by toysbfun2007-10-22 10:26:00
Been tried already by DesertRat662007-10-22 10:34:59
It has been tried before that even. by RetiQlum2 2007-10-22 10:43:07
The Catholic Church decreed a maximum wage. The result was the dark ages. Providing incentive for improved performance and trade is what drives people to excel and produce more wealth.

As improbable as it seems, Kim Hsu selling bicycles on a street in Hong Kong makes you and I richer. The details involve a lot of math that I can't remember off the top of my head.

Bill Gates made us all richer by accidentally creating the PC-Clone industry which made processor prices cheaper, which is why we can buy more computing power for $300 than existed in the entire world in 1979. Without that, linux would never have existed.
