insurance and medicare claims at a Hospital. yeah, both medicare and the HMO's are making it difficult for health care personel to do their job. One makes the other worse as has been said elsewhere. If the medicare is set at an artificially low price then they hospital and doctors have to make it up elsewhere to pay the bills and malpractice insurance. From my understanding much of the time it takes MONTHS to get a medicare claim paid whereas the same thing through an HMO takes WEEKS. If your bottom line dictates if you stay open or closed ....which system would you use...the one that pays faster or the one that pays slower for the same job?
