1) It's getting harder to find doctors that even ACCEPT Medicare. Their reimbursements hardly cover costs. 2) It's like pulling teeth to get them to pay claims. 3). Does all that "overhead" include time spent by oldsters or their families pursuing admin issues themselves? In private insurance, there's only so much crap an insurer can dish out, before an employer (or individual client) defects to another company. Not so with Medicare. Captive audience.
