In Canada we have 'socialized' medicine. Our per capita cost is about half of the American system, we have longer wait times in some areas (but not all) but our outcomes are better, i.e. slightly longer lives and better general health since we are able to focus on preventitive medicine and people don't go bankrupt from medical emergencies.
