I don't think you need to guess. Throughout the world, many health care systems have been tried.

Looking at these other systems, my conclusion is that (like Democracy) socialised health care is the WORST possible system - except for all the others that have been tried.

Taking a look at the US (a country with, in my opinion, the worst health care of any first world country) - all the money goes to the HMOs and pharmaceuticals. By comparison, MediCare is amazingly cheap and efficient.
