If you're, as you say, "without religion" at the moment, and you have the desire for one, them why not choose Pastafarianism. It's the fastest growing religion that ever existed, and has one of the best track records. No genocides in it's name so far, no wars started because of it, and it requires a lot less suspending of rational thought than most other mainstream religions.
