Invoke(UFicle->cars): Blower acting up. by Phoon 2007-10-08 20:16:07
The blower switch in my car (a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GT) seems to be wonky. It's a six-position switch (off and 1-5). Position 1 doesn't activate the blower, though it does apparently turn on the AC compressor. The rest seem to work normally, with one exception.

Occasionally, the blower will turn itself on, blowing at its highest speed, and nothing short of pulling the fuse will shut it back off. Even removing the key from the ignition switch, which normally shuts off the blower, does nothing. In the past, this had only occurred while the blower switch was in position 5... but on the way home, I had the blower *off* and it decided to come on full blast.

Any ideas as to what could be causing the problem? How is the switch wired, typically? Could it be faulty wiring?
