for example if you are moving and have disconnected your cable/adsl and need to check UF, then you could piggyback someones net.but if you are downloading a major linux distro, or surfing for llama pron, then get your own frellin' connection. oh and it is no alway feasible to ask as I don't know of a way to identify who owns the WiFi or even how to locate the source.
