It's Copyright infringement and other such more serious issues. It's in the owner's best interest to secure his/her WiFi router. As a subscriber of internet, you are responsible for ANYTHING ANYONE does with your slice of the bandwidth pie. If some slurper, say, downloads the entire Sony music catalog and the RIAA comes knocking on your door, YOU Are liable because it was with YOUR account that the crime was committed.
