that such a law's first effect would be to ban [most] religion. Just to be clear, I'm definitely not going to argue that religion is inherently a barrier to learning logical critical thinking. Only that a large number of organized religions tend to at best act as crutches, obviating the need to learn to think for oneself, and at worst actively discouraging logical thinking, where such thinking leads to a contradiction of faith.

So, my short answer is that such a law would be a bad idea, at least for now.
