How hard will it be to recover a hardware RAID 0+1 by z1root2007-10-08 12:09:05
If it is just the RAID controller by altordwm2007-10-08 12:44:23
Controller is sealed w/ drives in a custom device. by z1root 2007-10-08 12:59:28
To get to them, I have to void the warranty for the customer, and I need to know before that if I have a reasonable chance of success. Once I open the box, I MAY be able to determine what model the controller is, but it is likely to be a proprietary embedded controller on the motherboard of the device, which means the only way to get another one is to buy another identical device, open it up (thereby voiding its warranty, too), and swapping the drives. And then I still don't have a console interface to do recovery work, just a blinking LED to wait for to stop blinking.

Yes, and they sure can, for a hefty price. by z1root2007-10-08 15:20:48

So how do you plan to get the data out of the box by altordwm2007-10-08 15:50:28
Not always. Depends on what's shot by subbywan2007-10-08 16:05:21
