I have yet to see a technical manual that was usable for the layperson.
The IT sector has shrouded itself in mystery with its lingo, and now it pays the price.
Sorry, I don't buy your argument, since the literature, plain out, has the nature of the vacuum cleaner.
Besides, if security was so easy for the layperson, it would be even easier for the specialists to implement as the default. AS long as the default is the way it is, I see no reason to hold the layperson accountable.
The layperson just wants a wireless router, where as those war driving are out for something that isn't theirs to use to begin with.
Any rationalization (or imaginary implied consent) doesn't change that. |
