I was going to recommend MailScanner, but you don't seem to like that option. SpamAssassin seems to be the leader in open source spam scanning. You could look at amavisd-new, but it is probably very similar to MailScanner. There is a commercial implementation of MailScanner that may be more what you are looking for by Fort Systems Ltd
