Dead computer. :/ by RoraJoey 2007-10-08 03:48:43
One of my boxen (WinXP Pro x64) quit while I was working on something. I rebooted, and it was unable to see one of my HDDs (unfortunately it's the C drive).

I shut it down, let it sit a while, and started it again. It saw all 3 drives, but it still said it was unable to find NTLDR. I went into the repair console and saw that NTLDR was there. So I thought I'd do a Repair Installation, but setup isn't even giving me that option.

Can you say "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot"?

I'm downloading the Ultimate Boot CD right now. I expect that'll give me a way to back up my (probably failing) HDD before I nuke & pave it.
