Did you like the origami? If you missed it, the origami bookmarks will remain available for your folding pleasure. And do give me some feedback! If you enjoyed these, I'm sure Illiad can come up with more spiffiness.
AfricanClimate@Home has launched. This is a climate change project, but unlike projects studying global warming this project aims to be of immediate relevance in planning agriculture and water resources in underdeveloped countries.
This project has some unusual technical requirements. Therefore, this is the first project that is opt-in only. You will only receive work from this project if you go to your project selection page and select it. The reason for this is that the download and upload file sizes are unusually large: 77 MB down and 13 MB up (these sizes are after compression). There are some further limitations: peak memory use is high (600 MB) and the intermediate files are also large - you need 1 GB of disk space free and allocated to BOINC.
If you still use the United Devices WCG agent, it's time to migrate to BOINC. WCG are phasing out UD support.
The World Community Grid is a grid computing project whose mission "[...] is to create the world's largest public computing grid to tackle projects that benefit humanity." Their current projects are AfricanClimate@Home, Discovering Dengue Drugs – Together, FightAIDS@Home and Human Proteome Folding Phase 2.

This will be a daily post, if there are no objections. Please, come and help out. I really can't think of a better use for my spare CPU cycles, or yours either.
