We were living in Kaiserslautern, Germany, (Ramstein AFB) and I was about 4.
Bored out of my skull, I thought I'd call my Grandmother.
In California.
I evidently just started punching buttons at random until someone started talking to me.
I asked about the weather, if there was anyone that could come over to play with me, how I was bored, etc.
I ended up talking until my mother noticed I was on the phone.
She politely asked whom I was talking to, and I said "Nice Lady." and handed my mother the phone.
When the Australian Operator realized what had happened, she agreed not to charge us for the call, which my mother was VERY thankful for.
And for some ODD reason, my parents moved the phone to a rather high-off-the-floor wall-mount that night.
I wonder why...
