HOW she was detained (ie, handcuffs vs simply getting driven home, for example) was the result of her fighting.
Why she was there is irrelevant -- sneaking out of the house to hang with friends or escaping a rapist -- She's going to be detained, either because she needs to get in trouble for breaking the law, or because she needs help of some sort (medical, trauma, whatever).
"Being detained" doesn't mean "You did a bad thing". it means "The cops are holding you for some reason". Usually it's because the person was naughty, but it could well be for their own good too.
