This is one reason people have been making a big deal about all this torture stuff lately: The 'first world' countries routinely claim to be 'different', morally superior to us lowly third-world folk. In reality, as recent events have illustrated once again, you aren't so different. You have a few bad apples. We have a few bad oranges, I suppose. There are plenty of countries poorer than yours who hold their troops to equally high standards. I am not Syrian, but I am getting tired of countries claiming to be morally superior because they are rich.
