Oh, we don't review all accounts. by hadji 2007-10-05 13:54:43
I get a monthly report of all accounts that do not match HR. This means that if an account exists for a person who does not exist in HR, it shows up in the report.

If an account is active for a person who was terminated in HR, it shows up in the report. We have a program that syncs the HR database with Active Directory, so this last bit would happen if that sync process fails or if we choose to extend someone's account after their termination of employment.

Extensions have been granted for people who agree to work on a contractual basis while their replacement settles in, or for higher-level execs who want to maintain their email account until they get things sorted out, or in one case, our co-founder who is retired but maintaining his email address indefinitely.
