Yesterday was overwhelming, but good. I dealt with the ordination of a Bishop yesterday, both as clergy and as organist, and was wiped out. But it was an awesome experience.
Back on Tuesday, the doctor turned me into swiss-cheese, doing biopsies. Will get the results Monday, but everything is looking good. He also gave me the go-ahead to return to sky-diving (the fractured ribs have healed, as had the foot).
So, in about 15 minutes, I'm heading out to catch the train to head down to Hollister, California. Will stay in a motel tonight, and tomorrow will be jumping. WOOHOO! I've been grounded since 6/23/2007, and I'll be back in the air. And, tomorrow is a special day... it's the Paul Cousin's Memorial 6-way speedstar competition, and I've been cleared by the Safety and Training Advisor to compete, so my return-to-air will also be my first sky-diving competition! I'm excited. I wasn't qualified to participate last year, though I really wanted to, and am stoked to get to do it this year.
The way the 6-way Speedstar works is that all those competing are divided into teams of 6 people. The teams are set so there is a full blend, from very experienced to fairly novice, on each team. The clock starts running when the team exits the plane. The task is to see how quickly the 6-person team can form into a star formation. If they get it done quickly enough, they then transform the star for additional points. It's going to be cool.
So, take care. Will see you folks next week.
