Traveling good vibes wanted by mridenour2007-10-05 09:50:51
  *good vibes* I'm sure they'll be fine. by josie_beller 2007-10-05 11:19:16
Having a dog along helps, 'cos it gives you a reason to stop and stretch your legs regularly. Plus there's someone to talk to, and someone besides yourself to worry about when tempted to do something risky. It's summer, there's no black ice, anything else like storms he can pull over and wait for it to pass. If he's going to make the drive, this is when to do it!

I've driven on my own from Chicago to New Orleans and back twice, from downstate Illinois to Erie PA and back and to Philladelphia area and back, to Minneapolis and back several times....no one trip quite as far as you're talking, but then, I'm sure he's taking it in more than one day.

It's amazing the sorts of radio stations you can discover when traveling...I swear I once heard a station playing Christian death metal. My WhIMPeR map is getting a teensy bit outdated now, though. (Where Is My Public Radio?, has every public radio station in the country on it. Car Talk, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, Fresh Air....great to drive to!)
