I suspect that ABC mangled the facts, but possibly the fault is in my understanding of diabetes. I was of the opinon that Type II diabetes isn't due to missing insulin production as the article states, but rather to the body developping a tolerance to it's own insulin, thus reducing the effectivity. That's why usually old and/or obese people develope it.
