... my head around. I worked in a international company here in Europe once. One of my colleagues was from Zimbabwe. When people from the US were over they sometimes referenced him as "African American" when they didn't know his name. Even though he never in his life set foot into the US. ;-) So if I tell someone "Go to Michael for that" and they ask "Who is Michael" the best way to describe him was to tell them "he is the black one" (since he was the only black in a group of 5 or so) I wonder how much more we could have confused the USians if there had been a South African among us. ;-)
