Barack Obama is black?!?!?! by hadji 2007-10-05 09:25:32
OK, seriously, why do people keep bringing this up? I mean, I could understand it if people of certain minorities feel they could identify with someone from whom they might get some long-overdue representation, but that's about the only context in which I could see that particular factoid as being relevant to anyone's assessment of his suitability to hold the office of POTUS.

Anyone who is not in that particular minority, their only concern should be whether or not he has an agenda to grant unfair or unjustified representation to any minority. I've never seen or heard any evidence that he has any intention of doing so, so that shouldn't be an issue for anyone.

In regards to the TLP, I heard someone on the radio this morning (a woman-on-the-street sort of thing) express that she supported him, she's going to vote for him, she's trying to help rally for him, but she feels he might not get enough popular support since he's black.

Whenever I ponder who I'd like to vote for in the upcoming election, that particular characteristic never even a consideration.

People have to grow up, get over it. For heaven's sakes, get a freakin' education! A real one!
