but for meaningful, finished (well, within reason) text, 1000 (4 pages) is about the limit. It equates to about 4 hours work.

I used to find >4hrs in a day and I would be history the next day, so I took to doing research and mindless routine tasks associated with writing for the rest of the day.

For school papers, you can do 3000 easily, it really does depend on the content and the audience.
