My perspective as a middle-aged mother of a teenager, stepmother to a couple of 20-somethings, and a new-ish (step)grandparent, I have a very different perspective on family issues than childless people under 30. I'm going to recuse myself from family dynamics discussions for the rest of the day, at least. Sorry if I seemed less than sympathetic and if I pushed any buttons that I should have left alone. I'm going to go quilt something for someone I care deeply about instead of getting peeved here about things that are none of my business.
