...that you don't know if you'll still be with him in 10 years. You hope so, yes, and that's fine, but you still don't know for sure. What you *do* know for sure is that your mom will still be your mom in 10 years, so you should try to foster a relationship with her. Vox's other point was that in 10 years, your mom could also be dead, and any chance you have for reconciling your relationship would be gone then.
