I will assume your past the room with the small cannon and use that as a landmark.

Use the magnet to draw the metalic block into the hole and exit via the right most north exit.

Note the position of the cannon in this room.

The middle exit in the room with the small cannon rotates this cannon 90 degrees clockwise.

Face it west.

Go back to cannon room, exit left most north door. 'weapon' behind torch here.

In the next room exit the upper exit on the east wall.

THIS button toggles low and high angle on the cannon.
Aim it HIGH

Back to BIG cannon room and fire WEST + HIGH

you'll smash the block and get the treasure. Then exit North side right most exit.

east from here

In this new room put the block into the hole, get the 'weapon' and then note the metal block.

Back to the big gun. Note position.

Use the rotation switch to face it north. FIRE.

Back to the metal block room with the 'weapon' on top of it.

Place the block on the mark the falling 'rock' just made.

Fire the cannon again.

Now you can get the 'weapon' this opens the upper exit on the west side.

NOW you can get the chest with the bone.

You should now be able to make the pickaxe
