Quick character typing question to the US UFies. by leonidus2007-08-13 15:08:32
For me, <Compose>-o-o works, sorta by Talchas2007-08-13 15:28:57
My xterm and Firefox ignore it, too. by leonidus2007-08-13 15:36:41
Hmm, looking on google it looks like GTK, QT and X by Talchas 2007-08-13 15:59:28
all have different overlapping compose lists, and have done so for years. Why, I don't know. Anyway, if you can set the default input method to XIM, via something like
export GTK_IM_MODULE=xim
export QT_IM_MODULE=xim
in some startup file, then that is supposed to work. For me, it just gives error messages saying "Error converting text from IM to UTF-8: Invalid byte sequence in conversion input". Looks like gtk assumes that the input method is using some other encoding. Ick.
