of law enforcement. I hope it is not from personal experience.

Just look at two examples of how law enforcement works: Iraq, where police is practically negligible, if not fundamentally corrupt, and Canada (at least I have experience in how well police works in Canada).

Which place would you think you are most likely to be a victim of crime? You, as an individual? With Canadian police not being any more obliged to protect individuals than American ones.

If results are any indication, then I'm inclined to trust the protection the police gives me. Me, as an individual. And I want to see them get the tools they need to be as effective as possible, and to make their work as easy and safe as possible.

Or would you feel safer protecting yourself somewhere without an effective police force?
