that if something does go down, you train yourself to *first* check what's going on, *before* you go for your gun. Seems like going for your gun is putting yourself in a lot more danger than the cops.

Plus, again, we don't know what was on the warrant. Perhaps guns or armed people were listed as possibles on the warrant. These folk weren't after that family after all.
