It was her parents store and she was working at the time, add a shortage of sleep (or party+hangover) - and I could see why someone would drink 7 double expresso's quickly.

She is also only 17 and might not have the tolerance for caffiene that some UFies have. A quick google search shows drip coffee is about 150mg/8oz, expresso 100mg/2oz, and soda drinks 40-60mg/12oz (sizes are standard serving size). I'm not linking to the source because it varies so much from coffee to coffee, but those should be rough approximates. Using this the 14 expresso's would be ~28 cans of pop (almost 5-2L bottles) - I doubt many parents let their kids drink anywhere near that much pop a day (let alone over a couple hours) - and with her reaction - I think it's safe to assume she didn't have much of a tolerance built up.
