| if I'm sitting in my house naked on a beanbag eating cheetos watching Robert Tilton (tip o' the hat to Ron White), and the police bust in my door, throw me to the ground, cuff me, do their level best to put the fear of $deity and/or them in me, then they find out they've got the wrong man or the wrong house, the only thing I can do is chalk it up to life in America and "shake it off", so to speak? Say I'm injured somehow by being roughhoused by enthusiastic officers. Say my personal belongings are damaged beyond repair by their actions. I should just suck it up and write it off? Even "Acts of God" are covered by many insurance policies--are the cops bigger or more above reproach for their actions than God? Maybe they are. |
