(see my other rant in this thread) People don't see recorded media as having enough value to justify the draconian regulations and prohibitions in the use of it, as end-users. It's produced for them to watch and enjoy, after all (goes the viewpoint of consumers), and they're happy to buy a copy. The realization isn't there that they didn't buy a thing, not even the physical product they take home from the store.
