| If the check to see if someone lives there cannot give a definate answer (and IMHO their is no way it can, even if it was required by law) what's the point in trying to verify who lives there in the first place?
I'm sure many a drug dealer has set up shop in a vacitioner's home, a snow-bird's place when they are away, an estate after a death, or even an abandoned house. In that situation I would rather the police raid the house, instead of looking at the land ownership registry and seeing that $Dealer isn't on any paperwork related to the house.
I also think it could be a good thing that the kids were scared like that. Now they KNOW they don't want to be on the wrong side of the door when the cops come a knocking, so after that they might not put themselves in a position where the police will show up ready to rumble. |
