and I would request the cops let my kids talk to their shrinks if necessary, but I'm not going to hold the cops accountable for an honest mistake. Esp when i'm the one ultimately paying for it in taxes. My feelings would be very very annoyed and I would ask for an investigation, but knowing the pressure cops are under in a situation like that, and that they (the cops) have no idea who is or isn't a bad guy, or who might shoot them, I can't blame them for wanting to be damn sure of their own safety.
