Without the back story this is difficult to armchair quarterback. However, if one takes the report at its word it sounds like they got the info from the snitch, got a warrant, and kicked down a door.

They should have done something to verify the snitch's story first. Snitch's have been known to give bad info before to harass and intimidate neighborhood opponents their buddies operation.
